ADAM
MCDONALD
DIRECTOR / BUILDER
Adam brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the building industry. He began his carpentry apprenticeship at a young age, fortunate to learn from a quality old-school builder—a rarity these days. They undertook the majority of the home construction process, from concreting to stick framing, tiling, and roofing. This comprehensive training provided Adam with a robust foundation and a deep understanding of the entire building process and quality construction methods.
With over 20 years in the industry, Adam has predominantly focused on residential custom-built homes and renovations. However, his expertise also extends to architectural homes and commercial projects, some including, shop fit-outs and concrete tilt panel buildings, further enhancing his skill set.
In 2015, after many years of study, Adam obtained his Builder’s Licence to pursue his passion and establish this business.
Those who have worked with Adam know he is meticulous and sets high expectations for his team, contractors, and suppliers. He is a great leader who prides himself on attention to detail and is dedicated to teaching best building practices to his team members.
Adam's calm and understanding nature allows him to guide clients through the building and renovation journey with clear and open communication, ensuring everyone remains aligned and that the intended finishes and desired outcomes are achieved.
LARA
MCDONALD
INTERIOR DESIGNER + OPERATIONS MANAGER
Lara has always had an innate eye for design and a love of beautiful homes. She feels the energy and flow of a home can really impact peoples lives both internally and externally and it is a huge reason why she loves helping others build or renovate their home or space to impact their lives in a positive way.
Lara has always taken the design lead on their personal projects. Following the huge success of their most recent projects, she decided to officially complete her Interior Design qualification. This education has provided her with a new wealth of knowledge and skill sets, which she is eager to share with ADLAR clients.
Lara plays an integral role in guiding clients through the building journey. From the initial contact to space planning ideas, mood board creation, and material selection, she helps ensure that every home is harmonious and aesthetically pleasing while meeting the client's needs and desires.
Before joining ADLAR, Lara spent over 10 years in the corporate world. She held various roles, including Executive Assistant, Financial Operations, Contract Administration, and Housing and Vehicle Management. These experiences have equipped her with transferable skills that enhance the business's processes and operational efficiencies, ensuring an exceptional experience for our clients.
Lara also has a special interest in Energy work and Feng Shui. With accreditations in Reiki, she can read the energy of a space and determine what is needed to create a balanced environment.
Known for her positive and kind persona, Lara genuinely cares for everyone she works with, making her an invaluable member of the ADLAR team.

We have custom built and renovated many of our own projects over the past 15 years, and have had the privilege of helping many other families with their building dreams during this time.
We truly love what we do and have a passion for construction, property development and interiors. Every project we take on we treat it like our own and put our heart and soul into.
